Wise Fool Circus & Physical Theatre Residency:
Miami Performing Arts Center

Wise Fool has been developing an ongoing collaboration with the Greater Miami Performing Arts Center, since March 2004. This collaboration has provided a wonderful opportunity for Wise Fool to share our experience with the greater Miami area.

Each spring, Miami Performing Arts Center together with Wise Fool, a physical theatre company based in New Mexico provide a five-week series of Circus and Physical Theatre workshops throughout various communities in Miami-Dade County for youth and adults.

For children, the workshops include introductory, intermediate, and advanced stilts classes for ages 7-12; trapeze classes for ages 7-15; hoops classes for ages 7-15; acrobatics classes for 7-15; clowning classes for ages 5-12; juggling classes for 8-15; and puppet classes for 8-15. Classes meet 2 times per week for 2 hour sessions.

Wise Fool has also been helping to advance the skills of a local improvisational troupe, the Urban Disturbance. This group was established by the Miami Performing arts center in the hopes of bringing awareness to there new facility in downtown Miami.
